Things To Do with Girlfriend

22 Things To Do With Your Girlfriend (Fun, Cute, Romantic)

Maintaining a healthy relationship requires innovation and reinvention. Not every date night can be about Netflix and Chill. It’s all about keeping things fresh with a variety of cute, crazy, and romantic activities.

When you have just begun dating your girl, you might want to spend a lot of time cuddling around. However, after a while, it can become monotonous, and boredom can set in very quickly.

This is where I step in! I have been dating my girlfriend for the past decade now. Some of our earliest dates involved hiking and going on treks. However, after a while, we covered most local trails and started craving new things.

So, let us get going!

22 Best Things To Do With a Girlfriend: Fun & Unique

Based on the time that my partner and I have spent together, I have curated a list of things to do to keep your relationship steady. These include both indoor and outdoor activities, such as hiking and cooking, as well as some unique experiences, such as hot air balloon rides and ice skating.

Enjoying these experiences together will form core memories for you both to look back upon years from now!

Outdoor Activities

Take a Day Trip

Take a Day Trip

One of the best ways to spend time with your GF is to take a day trip. Have a nearby attraction you’d like to visit? Have a waterfall you’ve always wanted to watch? Is there a restaurant in the town that you want to visit? Go for it!

Day trips are particularly fun because you’re back in the comfort of your own home by night.

Go Hiking

Go Hiking

Hiking trips with your girlfriend are always fun. Just you and her under the open skies, amid the greenery and natural beauty. It is also a distraction-free time where you two are just focused on each other, walking hand in hand. This can be a very romantic experience if done right.

Watch the Sunrise

Watch the Sunrise

There’s something mesmerizing about witnessing a day starting off or coming to an end, standing hand in hand with your partner.

The ‘Before Trilogy’ films starring Ethan Hawke are just the perfect example of why this moment can be so beautiful. Therefore, watching the sunrise is one of the most romantic things you can do with your girlfriend.

Go to the Beach or Swimming

Go To the Beach

One of the most relaxing things you and your partner can do together is to hit the beach. You can go there to just lie down in a quiet corner to sunbathe or take a long swim across the cool waters on a hot day. Rub some sunblock on her to show her that you care!

Go on a Bike Ride

Go on a Bike Ride

Biking, as a subculture, has witnessed quite a growth in the US. Biking is no longer about the leather-donned-harley-driving rednecks. You can enjoy a bike ride with your girlfriend, and go around on a cross-country biking trip.

This is no longer something you do with the dudes, and is very much a couple’s activity these days!

Fun and Unique Experiences

Visit a Local Landmark or Tourist Place

Visit a Tourist Place

Want to spend quality time with your special one? Head out to your nearby local landmark. Explore a memorial to a fallen soldier, visit an art museum, or head out to the nearest Civil War-era fort.

Not only does it help you have a good time with her, it also helps you know your own city better.

Attend & Celebrate Festival or Fair

Celebrate a Festival

Attending a local fair is another good thing to do together. Get on the Ferris wheel, hand-in-hand, as you enjoy the view of the city around you. Grab some cotton candy, and listen to a local artist sing his heart out – this is as romantic as an evening can get!

Take a Hot Air Balloon Ride

Hot Air Balloon Ride

One of the most crazy and unique things that you and your girlfriend can enjoy is a ride on a hot air balloon. It is an activity that very few people get to try out in their lifetime, and the view from up there is spectacular.

If you haven’t already, do add it to your couple’s bucket list and make sure to get some photographs clicked while you’re up in the air.

Attend a Sports Game

It doesn’t matter if you’re both cheering for the same team or on opposite sides, attending a sports event is always fun with your girlfriend.

The thrill of the sport is enhanced by the thrill of watching it with a loved one. Pro tip: Keep an eye out for the kiss-cam.

Ice Skating

Ice Skating

Ice skating requires the kind of delicate care that you promise to take of your partner when you first meet them. Not only does this help develop a new skill, but it also helps you develop grace and finesse in your movements.

Stargazing

There’s something special about star gazing with a partner. Not only are you looking at just the infinite universe ahead of you, but you are also looking at the life that you have together. Star gazing can be even more interesting if you do it with a star map and identify the different constellations up there!

At Home Things To Do

Cook a Meal Together

Couple Cooking Together

Cooking a meal is one of those tasks that seems monumentally difficult when done alone, but rather simple when you team up with your girlfriend. Divide the responsibilities and multiply the love that goes into preparing the food!

Movie Marathon or Binge-Watch a Series

Movie Night

Movie Marathons are one of my favorite activities to do with my girlfriend at night. We take turns in picking movies, and we prepare a whole list of trivia and fun facts. We even pick themes like classics, horror, romance, etc. based on the occasion.

Game Night

Couple Enjoying Game Night

While many people think that game night is best enjoyed with a team, two-person games can be equally fun. There are many couple-friendly games out there, and if you pick your cards right, you might even be in for something innovative in the bedroom that evening.

If I were to recommend one mobile app, it would be couples games by FYR, which includes a variety of card games to spice up your bedroom.

Create a Collaborative Playlist

This sounds rather simple, but it is quite a team effort. When it comes to music, everyone has strong tastes and preferences, and coming to a common consensus over a couple’s playlist can be quite a crazy but fun task to do with your partner.

Make Cocktails Together

Getting drunk together with your better half is always a good idea, but this gets even better if you make the drink yourself. Making cocktails is an art when it comes to the flavors and a science when it comes to the quantities and the ingredients. Team up to get the best of both these worlds!

Bake Something Together

Baking things together is the perfect activity to do with your partner, especially around the holiday season. My girlfriend and I love baking gingerbread man cookies and sending them to our loved ones around Christmas.

Do a Puzzle

Solving a puzzle with your girlfriend can be as fun as it can be competitive. It brings out the detective in both of you, trying frantically to see where the jigsaw fits. You can also solve sudoku puzzles, or try filling out a crossword on a lazy Sunday evening to spend quality time together.

Creative and Learning-Based

Take a Class Together

Couple Taking a Class Together

Learning is best done when you have a peer with you, who always keeps you accountable. Taking a class with your partner ensures that you keep each other motivated to learn new things.

Do a DIY Project

DIY Projects

DIY projects are fun because they’re like solving a puzzle that has real-life implications. From assembling furniture to working on pottery, and from re-painting your garage to creating homemade wax candles, DIY projects are double the fun when done with a partner.

Read Poetry

Read Poetry Together

Poetry is the language of love, and who else to practice this with than your girlfriend? Reading poetry opens up the world of masters like Keats, Wordsworth, Poe, and other masters of the written word. This makes you both, a better romantic, as well as a better wordsmith.

Try a New Hobby Together

Picking up a new hobby is not hard, but sticking to it is! However, I have noticed that whenever both I and my girlfriend pick up a new hobby, we keep it going for a longer time as we keep each other accountable.

For instance, try out gardening or running. There are many other hobbies to do as a couple; give them a try, and trust me, you won’t regret it.

Final Thoughts!

The more unique experiences you have together, the stronger your bond will be. This was never really a challenge, as we have had many unique experiences to try out over the last decade.
